BDV, AFZ and HVV vent valves are designed to drain (purge) or bleed (depressurize) pipelines, steam traps, valves and others.

BDV - Blowdown Valves - Manual venting of strainer screen contents and generally for use as a drain and/or depressurization valve.

BDVL - Same as above, but also allows discharge to a safe location.

AFZ - Antifreeze Device - Automatic discharge of condensate from steam traps, piping valves and others, to prevent condensate from freezing.
